Three new big fishes for 2018! They’re all about 23” long though the third is shrinking as it dries and will shrink more when fired so I expect these may end up as 20” or less.
However I just found out the co op will let me work even bigger so that’s good.
So my day job at the time I’m posting this is I’m a cashier/sales associate at a chain pharmacy here in the US.
Two of my regulars are this second grader named Star and her mom and Star is one of my favorite customers so I made her this. It took forever to track down the right purple underglaze.
It has mounting hardware on the back so it can be hung on the wall.
The underglazes are all Amaco velvet series though the green is my special mix of their blue yellow and white. I sprayed a thin coat of my ceramics co-op’s Home made transparent over the top.
Star loves the star.
The first two of 2018! 16” and 17 respectively. Always based on the Asian Arawana species.
Another two 17” ones from 2016. All of the 2016 ones sold.
Two 17in fishes! Completed no less! Fired to cone six in oxidation. The black is amaco velvet jet black underglaze. The tan is just bare clay. The top one is my fav of the series.
